Dedication to our Grandson "Rain",
and South Korea.

We are dedicating this web site to our grandson "Rain", one day he will train under us as a young Hwa Rang Warrior. He has passed through his 100 day birthday celebration in the old Korean traditions, and customs the way the Korean people would celebrate a young child's birthday at the age of 1 year old in Korea. Food, and fruit are placed before him, and the statue of Buddha also, then his parents would light the candles, three incense sticks, and ring the gong three times, bow three times to Buddha to give "Rain" good luck, long life, the path of good Karma with his future. There is the placement of a writing pad, writing pen, a dollar bill, and a quantity of thread in front of "Rain", to see what he grasps first, the writing pad, and pen is for education, a writer, a scholar in his life. The money means he will have a prosper life with money, and wealth. If "Rain" picks the thread he will have long life, and harmony.
"Rain" is wearing the traditional Korean 100 day clothing for the celebration, and he is also wearing his dad's old 100 day traditional clothing when he was young(Blue top, Green top multi-colored sleeves, light Blue shirt, light Purple pants, black hat). It was a great honor for us to do this celebration for our Grandson "Rain", and his father "Erick", who is a U.S. Army Paratrooper, Irag Veteran from the 82nd Airborne Division, rank of a E-5 Sergeant, who is now serving near the DMZ in Korea. Rain's father will be able to see where his ancestry came from while serving in Korea. Thank you for serving your country, Erick. Erick is a member of The Korean Military Combat Martial Arts Federation® as a rank of a 6th Grade - Green Belt with a Black Stripe.
"Rain" picked the money first, then the pad second. He will have money, and wealth in his life, and have education to become a scholar.
Sabum-nim "Kum" cooked up all the old traditional Korean foods for "Rain's" 100 day birthday celebration.
We are also dedicating this web site to South Korea, their people, customs, and traditions of the old ways of Korea.
"Happy Birthday, "Rain"!!
