Easy steps to indoor growth of your Bamboo plant.
Always keep the roots below the water, and keep out of direct Sunlight. The stalks will not grow, only the leaves will. Lucky Bamboo can live up to 15 years, and they are non-toxic.
Do not remove the rubber bands, which should be buried under the rocks, and the gold wire be shown as accents to your arrangement. Keep rocks moist on top, and roots are to be covered with water. The Bamboo is very happy living in a few inches of filtered, or distilled water.
Yellowing: The source of the water you are using is the main cause to "Yellowing" , Fluoride, chlorine, or salt. With one, and or a combination of these factors will cause this main problem. "Yellowing" is first observed on the tips of the leaves, then spreads throughout the entire stalk until the plant dies. It is very VITAL that you provide the bamboo with pure, and clean water.
If you detect an odor remove the bamboo plant, and rocks from the container, rinse the plant, rock, and container, replace all contents back into your container. The bamboo plant does not like direct Sunlight. Choose a location with filtered, and or indirect Sunlight. This plant grows naturally under a canopy in a wet tropical rain forests. If you detect burning, and or browning on the tips of the leaves, consider that the location may receive too much Sunlight at some point in the day.
The Bamboo plants prefer room temperature between 65-70 degrees.
Keep water levels so that the bottom is 1" of all canes is underwater. NEVER allow the canes to go completely dry. If the leaves become YELLOW empty the old water out of the container, and add fresh water, plant food, wait for 2 days, and then repeat the process. Regularly use plant food with each watering.
