                  Korean Seon Meditation Practice.

We here at The Korean Hwarang Martial Arts Federation® teach different levels of meditation within the dojang to help direct the members towards discipline of body, mind, and spirit of Seon(Zen) meditation.  The art, science, and theory of Seon(Zen) means meditation, and meditation means keeping a non-moving mind from movement to movement.  True meditation means (mind sitting), keeping a non-moving mind in any situation, and or condition in life, is the true meaning of practicing meditation within yourself.
 
If you practice controlling your breathing, then you can control your mind, and then control your body with discipline.  Your energy begins in the Tan-t'ien, the center located 2 inches below the navel area.  This is the area where you keep the mind in the Tan-t'ien.  To keep a non-moving mind, you must learn to discipline your body, mind, and spirit.  Your head is the intellectual center of oneself, and the chest is the emotional center of your body.  By keeping your attention in your head will keep your mind thinking, and your energy goes up.  Keeping your emotions in the chest area, then you will be pulled around, and directed by your own emotions.  By redirecting your process of thought, and emotions to the lower area of the Tan-t'ien center than these processes will clear to a non-moving mind, which in Korea means Juk-shim-shi-bul - "Buddha is mind".
 
When you do something within life, you must try, do it, and only do it 100% from moment to moment everyday becomes Seon meditation.  This is the foundation of your true self within oneself.  Thinking always makes your primary cause in your life.  True Seon (Zen) meditation practice is not maintaining a formal sitting posture but finding out the truth of oneself, "Who am I?"
 
With patience, and hard practice, and the right effort in oneself in the Seon meditation your mind becomes a non-moving mind.  This is called "Wake-up", and paying attention or right mindfulness.  Always practicing correct meditation is very important to wake up within yourself.  From moment to moment means the right meditation in keeping with a non-moving mind in any situation, and or condition always keep a mind clear of all thought.  The true aspect of Seon meditation is keeping the correct mind-sitting in any conditions, and or situations.  With correct Seon meditation you can obtain your true self, and the truth if a correct life within yourself is obtained everyday which means you are understanding your true self, and obtain the correct way of the truth within your life functions.  This again is called "Wake-up" is the experience of true meditation.
 
The key to Seon meditation is to recognize the truth to your body, mind, and spirit.  Seon meditation needs to be practice on a daily bases like natural breathing that you are born with within oneself, and finding your true happiness.  Happiness is the true way of Seon meditation.  The Chinese call Seon meditation "sitting still, and doing nothing".  This is the way of wisdom towards balance, and harmony within ones life.  This is the purpose in Seon meditation to achieve this purpose in your life.
 
The benefits of Seon meditation practice is to be able to cope with high pressure demands in your daily life, and making intellectual discisions in your occupation during the day, or through the night, giving you a feeling of well being within your body, mind, and spirit.  You gain a wider perspective on life, and feel more in control of your situation, then you are more relaxed physically, and mentally.  Seon meditation practice is one of the easiest forms to practice of well being in the body, mind, and spirit for a clear mind, and feelings.  Seon meditation also helps the physical to boost energy within oneself, and energizes the immune system to fight off all different kinds of infections within the body.  Seon meditation also helps reduce depression, anxiety, and lower blood pressure for heart problems, and other medical situations within the body.
 
Seon meditation is means of releasing stress conditions, such as insomnia, headaches, and certain skin conditions, and also consider a great source for physical relaxation, and a peace of mind, as knowing the truth within yourself, and the universe.  With a peace of mind within oneself you can eat better, sleep well, and feel better within your body, mind, and spirit.  Seon meditation is the awaking of the mind, body, and spirit to a great level,and the seconds of each moment to moment of life.  Seon meditation is the self purification of oneself of body, mind, and spirit.  Similar to washing ones hands, and mouth from bacteria, or the the physical cleansing of the body of sweat from the pores, and the flow of blood through the veins, and arteries to keep them clear.  The body, mind, and spirit is the temple of oneself, and the physical, and the mental training, conditioning is like sweeping, and moping the floor to cleanse it to purity.  Mental, and physical cleaning of the body, mind, and spirit comes through concentration, self discipline, and detrimination of oneself.
 
With dedicated training you will stay in the natural state of sharpened perception as part of your life as a natural movement of the body, mind, and spirit within oneself.  You have to have a perfect balance within your body, mind, and spirit to stabilize the energy of the universe around you to find clarity within oneself, which becomes a perfect relationship as a whole human being, means developing a high level of intentions without limitations of the body, mind, and spirit within oneself.  The study, theory, and discipline within Seon Meditation is to understand the real nature of training of the body, mind, and spirit.
 
Your first step of mental training is to master the external energy of the body through extensive forced Seon Yoga exercises.  Second step is the mastery of the physical aspects of our body to endure pain beyond oneself mental levels of the physical body.  The third level is the mastery of the mind to awaken oneself to inner most levels of wisdom, and the true aspects of life.  The last, and final level of the body, mind, and spirit to master is to combined all steps into one force, and be able to conquer all life forces of the universe energy within oneself externally, and internally as one.
 
Meditation, and wisdom should always be practice together as one, meditation means stabilizing ones body, mind, and spirit as one to become steady.  Wisdom means oneself expression that is clear of perception which is in total harmony with all of the universe.  Always practicing meditation needs patience, endurance, dedication, perseverance, and self discipline within oneself.
